At the close of 2020, a group of friends sought a truly special gift for a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with gatherings forbidden and many establishments closed, they wanted to honor the couple’s lifelong passion for winemaking. Residing in Marcialla, in the heart of the Chianti area, the couple had devoted their lives to the vineyards, making wine an integral part of their existence.
One member of the group, who had met Andrea during an event in Castellina in Chianti, stayed in touch and inquired about the possibility of crafting a bespoke K-OVER wine cover for this significant occasion. The friends envisioned a gift that would serve as a lasting legacy—a departure from conventional silver pieces. They desired something that the couple could pass down to their children and grandchildren, a piece that would be cherished and utilized during family meals and gatherings.
The request was to replicate the coat of arms displayed on the facade of the couple’s home. Undertaken by Marco Fedi, the task was challenging; capturing the intricate details of the coat of arms from a photograph of the house’s facade was no small feat, especially given the small dimensions. Nevertheless, the result was impeccable.
Finished with a practical diamond surface suitable for everyday use, the K-OVER was a heartfelt and unexpected gift that the couple greatly cherished. It was not just a present, but a beautiful and functional heirloom that symbolized their shared love and lifetime together, now to be enjoyed and remembered for generations
