This champagne cover is a distinguished piece from our Works of Art collection. Crafted from pure silver 999/°°, it features a meticulously detailed scene from Dante’s Divine Comedy. With the upcoming 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, Florence will host numerous events in his honor. To join these celebrations, we chose to reproduce a drawing originally made by Gustave Doré, depicting the giants imprisoned for their misbehavior.
This exquisite cover has been entirely handcrafted by Lorenzo Foglia, a master goldsmith from Florence. The production process spanned several months, utilizing advanced techniques such as overhang and chasing. The artist’s dedication to artistic perfection is evident in every aspect of this piece, which was sculpted from a single piece of silver. Special attention has been given to the chiseling of the human forms, showcasing Foglia’s exceptional skill and attention to detail.
As we look to the future, the rarity of finding such a talented artist becomes apparent. This K-OVER stands as a testament to Lorenzo Foglia‘s unparalleled craftsmanship and the enduring legacy of Dante’s work.
