This champagne K-OVER is a distinguished piece from our Work of Art Collection.
The artist has intricately chiseled a scene on pure silver 999/°°, depicting the dramatic start of the Battle between Florence and Pisa. The scene captures Florentine soldiers bathing naked in the Arno River, responding to a trumpet’s call warning of the Pisan attack. This cover draws inspiration from a never-completed artwork commissioned to Michelangelo, bringing historical depth and artistic reverence to the piece.
Handcrafted by Lorenzo Foglia, a master goldsmith from Florence, the creation of this cover spanned several months, utilizing advanced techniques such as overhang and chiseling. The core value of this piece lies in its artistic perfection, achieved by working from a single piece of silver. The complexity of the task was heightened by the absence of a reverse side, and the meticulous chiseling of the human figures showcases Foglia’s extraordinary attention to detail.
This remarkable K-OVER has been proudly showcased at prestigious events, including the Four Seasons (2019, Florence), the Cannes Yachting Festival (2019, Cannes), and Origin (2019, Milan).
